Lead Environmental Services Associate
Monday through Friday.
Evening Shift 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Cleans/disinfects all washrooms daily to include sweeping and mopping following floor care and maintenance guidelines. Ensures all washrooms are stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, and antibacterial soap. Checks supplies a minimum of twice during the shift.
- Vacuums main hall areas of the main building daily to include the conference area hallway. Vacuums office areas and conference rooms a minimum of once a week or as needed. Vacuums auditorium a minimum of once every two weeks or as needed.
- Sweeps and mops employee dining area daily following floor care guidelines. Cleans dining room baseboards a minimum of once a quarter or as needed.
- Sweeps and mops main entrance and back entrance daily following floor care guidelines. Cleans baseboards a minimum of once a quarter or as needed.
- Cleans/disinfects all treatment rooms daily to include sweeping and mopping following floor care and maintenance guidelines. Ensures all hand washing areas are stocked with paper towels, antibacterial soap and hand sanitizer. Checks supplies a minimum of twice during the shift.
- Sweeps Maintenance/IT/Food Service corridor weekly.
- Cleans/disinfects all handrails in main building using designated cleaning chemical a minimum of once a week or as needed. Cleans all base boards in main building a minimum of once a quarter or as needed.
- Clean all designated windows in the main building using designed cleaning chemicals and equipment a minimum of once a quarter or as weather permits.
- As directed by the supervisor, will inspect all areas of the hospital, school, and camp facilities. Document findings and makes any recommendations to supervisor for task enhancement i.e. training, equipment, supplies, etc. Will complete routine inspection responsibilities in the absence of the Environmental Services Supervisor.
- Assists supervisor with the coordination of patient room changes by working with Environmental Services Associate(s) to complete patient room sanitation.
- As directed by the supervisor, train new staff in procedures and process required by hospital standards and guidelines for infection control.
- Assist with the data collection for department quality assurance indicators. Makes recommendation for departmental policy updates and procedure improvements.
- Notifies supervisor if any assigned areas require additional attention or repair. Completes a maintenance ticket for repair and ticket will include exact location or room number, specific problem, and contact number. Notifies supervisor if floors require waxing and polishing prior to the regular schedule floor maintenance.
- Makes recommendations to supervisor for review of procedures or necessary equipment and or supplies to ensure compliance with hospital standards and guidelines.
- Removes trash at designated times. Empties regulated waste and other potentially infectious materials in appropriate containers according to Infection Control Policy # 8040.32
- Check supplies inventory weekly and submits request form to the Warehouse of what is needed to maintain appropriate stock in assigned area(s). Report excessive waste or discrepancies to supervisor via email.
- Completes all agency required in-service education as outlined in agency and departmental policy and procedure. Be familiar with the use, handling, and storage of chemicals used in cleaning (SDS). Attend all departmental meetings and participate efforts to improve services.
- Practice safe work methods and proper body mechanics while performing job duties and obtains assistance for lifting over 50 pounds. Uses appropriate personal protective equipment. Be familiar with equipment used in the cleaning process and proper care of the equipment. Maintains physical control of cleaning equipment within work site at all times or stores in a locked closet. Report defective equipment or potentially unsafe supplies or equipment to supervisor.
- Assist with the evacuations as needed and be familiar with the hospitals Life Safety Codes as they relate to maintaining free and accessible areas for evacuation.
- Proficient in Microsoft office programs such as excel and word to create and update job assignments/tasks and other tasks and the supervisor’s discretion.
- Proficient in other Microsoft programs for various duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

J.D. McCarty Center is an established pediatric rehabilitation hospital for children with disabilities birth to 21 years of age. We are a unique 36 bed hospital because we are constantly looking for the best outcomes for our patients by evolving existing programs and being open-minded about new ideas. Our patients are admitted for a 30-day evaluation during which they are assigned a treatment team consisting of nursing unit, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nutritional services, social services, psychological services, behavioral analysis, and recreational therapy. Our 80-acres campus includes an on-site elementary, intermediate, and high school which is staffed by Norman Public School teachers. Patients may continue treatment needs beyond the 30-days as an in-patient in habilitation status based upon progress or placement needs.
